“We have always known, at some level, that the natural world is not simply a backdrop to our lives. This day is an invitation to act on that knowledge.”

Is this for you?

You don’t need a garden. You don’t need to live in the countryside. You don’t need any prior experience of meditation, nature practice or anything else.

You do need a day, a little curiosity, and a willingness to be surprised by how straightforward this can be.

This day is for you if:

You want to feel more authentically at ease with yourself – not as an occasional treat, but as your ordinary way of being.

You are drawn to the natural world and sense it has something to offer you, but haven’t yet found a way to bring it to life.

You are tired of approaches to wellbeing that require ‘self-improvement’, and want something truly holistic and authentic.

You are looking for happiness that is honest and durable, grounded in what nature-close societies around the world call ‘original knowledge’, together with good science and your own lived experience.

There’s a profound sense of happiness most of us have glimpsed but rarely managed to hold onto – a feeling of being truly at ease, vividly alive, at home in ourselves and in the world. Not the happiness of things going well, which comes and goes, but something sturdy and quiet underneath.

This day is about finding your way to that. It is simpler, more grounded and more enduring than most approaches to wellbeing, and even more enjoyable because it doesn’t ask you to improve yourself. It only asks you to pay joyful attention to your oldest knowledge.

Human beings evolved over hundreds of thousands of years in continuous relationship with the living world. That relationship is written into our bodies, our nervous systems, our ways of knowing. Reconnecting with it, in small, practical, entirely accessible ways, is the most direct route to happiness that research has yet found.

What the day offers

By the end of this day you will have a simple, memorable, supportive practice you can return to every morning of your life, a completely different way of seeing and relating to the natural world wherever you happen to live, and the beginnings of a relationship that will keep teaching you long after the day is done.

The methods are practical, the science is real, and the experience - almost without exception - is one of quiet delight.

The shape of the day

This is a self-directed day: you work through it at your own pace, guided by a beautifully designed workbook. There are no live calls, no fixed schedule, no pressure. The suggested timings below are just that. You can spread the day across a peaceful weekend if you prefer. The only requirement is time and a little willingness to slow down.

The day moves through six modules, with outdoor invitations woven throughout and space for reflection built into every section.

9:00

Welcome & how to use this day

Setting intention, preparing your space, and arriving. A short reflection on what has brought you here and what you are most hoping to carry away.

9:20

Module 1: You're more than a brain

Starting with yourself: an introduction to the four dimensions of wellbeing - body, heart, mind and spirit - and the science of what happens when we bring them all in balance into contact with the living world. A self-portrait exercise: where are you most alive, most depleted, most cut off?

10:20
Morning outdoor invitation — 20 minutes
10:40

Module 2: The balancing practice

The heart of the day. A step-by-step awareness sequence moving through the four dimensions, with nature as both context and catalyst. Taught in stages, then practised independently, with an optional audio guide recorded by Dr Juno. This is a practice you can return to every day of your life.

12:00
Lunch & outdoor time — 60 minutes
1:00

Module 3: Seeing differently

How language and habit have trained us to see nature as background rather than presence. Drawing on Robin Wall Kimmerer's grammar of animacy and indigenous traditions of mutual attention. Practice: the two-way gaze.

2:15
Afternoon pause — 15 minutes
2:30

Module 4: The everyday relationship

What reciprocity looks like in an ordinary day. Daily rituals, micro-practices and the difference between using nature for wellbeing and being genuinely in relationship with it. You design your own starter practice before the day is done.

3:45

Module 5: Nature as teacher

What plants and ecosystems can teach us about happiness, resilience and the long view. Fungal networks, seasonal time, recovery after disturbance. Nature as mirror, metaphor and elder. With Mary Oliver, plant ecology and drawing on Dr Juno's own research across cultures.

4:45

Module 6: Your nature prescription

Returning to the self-portrait from the morning. Writing your personal nature prescription: what you need, what you are committing to, and what you are offering in return. A close that sends you back into your life carrying something new.
